SNAP has worked
in collaboration with Paul Stolper gallery to produce
two wonderful portfolios. These were published to accompany
the SNAP exhibitions in both 2011 and 2012. Each contains
prints by all of the participating artists from its respective
show.
The 2011 portfolio contains 12 prints by: Darren Almond,
Don Brown, Cerith Wyn Evans, Mark Fuller, Russell Haswell,
Gary Hume, Johnnie Shand Kydd, Abigail Lane, Simon Liddiment,
Sarah Lucas, Julian Simmons and Juergen Teller.
The 2012
portfolio contains 11 prints by: Glenn Brown, May Cornet,
Matthew Darbyshire with Scott King, Brian Eno,
Ryan Gander, Maggi Hambling, Mark Limbrick, Gavin Turk
and Emily Richardson.
The SNAP exhibitions take place at Snape Maltings in Suffolk
which is home of Aldeburgh Music and where the annual Aldeburgh
Festival takes place. Paul Stolper has galleries in Museum
Street, London and also in Oslo. The portfolios were exhibited
as part of the site-specific Suffolk exhibitions but importantly
and because of the collaboration, this part of each show
has been more widely visible too. The 2011 portfolio has
been exhibited at the Paul Stolper galleries in both London
and Norway. The portfolio prints have been exhibited at
international art fairs and at the ICA in London. Unusually,
the portfolio prints are produced on blue back paper and
are large scale at 1524 x 1016mm each. Each is
folded to 508mm x 381mm so that an entire exhibition unfolds
from its box. The prints are intended to be pasted directly
to the walls but of course it possible to frame them also.
All of the prints are signed by the artists and each portfolio
is one of just 50 box sets that were published each year.
The portfolio box sets are for sale
at £5000
at the Paul Stolper gallery.
